Description:This immersion will give you a foundation in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory to help you understand your student’s unique individual constitution and how that can allow your work to be more effective. You will learn the basic five-element theory, yin and yang theory, and the differentiation of the organs or Zang Fu theory as it applies specifically to yoga. By understanding the framework of Chinese Medicine it gives us a basis to individualize the practice for our students needs.Identifying common areas and trigger points in the body that with simple, mindful self-application can be a great tool for teachers and students alike.

Tiffany Cruikshank is an internationally renowned yoga instructor, who has spent the past 20 years crafting a methodology for teaching and practicing yoga, wherein the practice is melded with Eastern and Western notions of medicine. Cruikshank’s teaching is held up by her work as a holistic health practitioner, acupuncturist, and sports medicine expert. Based in Seattle, Cruikshank teaches regularly for YogaGlo, and travels extensively around the world. She is also the author of the books Meditate Your Weight and Optimal Health for a Vibrant Life. Her approach has helped thousands of yogis around the world see their practice in a new light as a result of Cruikshank’s innovative thinking and dedication to the practice.

Props Needed: Yoga Mat ( essential) Two blocks, a strap and if you would like a bolster but this is not essential however there is a lecture with sitting component so bring what feels comfy to sit on the floor.

Continuing Education.

This module counts as 25 hours towards your 500hr or 1000hr certification with Yoga Medicine. You do not need to be enrolled in our 500hr/1000hr program in order to attend, though you are welcome to apply before the immersion. After the immersion, you also have the option to apply to our program if you would like to continue studying with Yoga Medicine.

In order to attend the immersion, your final payment (minus the $300 deposit) must be received by February 24th.
