That time of the month

wide kneed childsYou may notice that around your period you are more irritable. This is partly because the body is flushing out toxins making the liver more active which in turn affects the liver chi. This is why we can feel some discomfort around the outer lower hips. You may also feel more frustrated during your yin practice.
When we experience imbalances it is helpful to cultivate sensitivity towards ourself and the way you feel. When we are attentive and caring about our bodies we diminish harshness towards ourselves. When we learn to treat ourselves with compassion in what ever state our body is today we strengthen our Liver Chi.
A beautiful pose for this is supported child’s pose. Enjoy.
